Synopsis: 2001 Nev. State Laws, A.B. 459 Requires the Nevada Department of Education to develop a model program of education prohibiting harassment, intimidation or discrimination in schools. Requires local districts to adopt the department policy and provide appropriate training for school personnel.

Thanks to reporter, Joan Whitely, of the Las Vegas Review Journal, we have been notified of Nevada's new Harassment and Intimidation Act introduce on March 14, 2005, passed unanimously by both Nevada Houses and signed by Nevada Governor, Kenny C. Guinn, on June 1, 2005. Thank you Joan for getting Bully Police USA a copy of Nevada's new law.

Comments: Although the word "Bullying" is never mentioned in this law, it is clearly an anti bullying law. "Harassment" and "Intimidation" is included in the definition of bullying - but no clear definition of bullying is included in this law. Still, one-half point, (http://www.bullypolice.org/grade.html), is given for some excellent language in Sec. 8. I especially liked, (c) All persons in public schools are entitled to maintain their own beliefs and to respectfully disagree without resorting to violence, harassment or intimidation:... Very good!!!
